About Me
Currently based in Los Angeles, California.
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, (Jon) Flikkie was constantly exposed to various forms of art through his mother. That exposure quickly led to a dream of becoming an actor, and he began to realize that at the age of twelve when he did his first school play; It was a love that he maintained throughout high school where he decided acting is what he wanted to do with my life. While learning about acting throughout his time in high school, Flikkie began to play around with music composition and mixing, specifically focusing on instrumentals and storytelling without dialogue. Both of these things would carry him to Berea College for his undergraduate studies.
From the moment Flikkie arrived at Berea, he formally committed to receiving a degree in theater with an emphasis in acting. He was also fortunate enough to be hired as a sound technician his sophomore year, and it was through this position and his composition skills that he would be appointed as the sound designer for the remaining two-and-a-half years at Berea. By the end of my fourth year, He was on the verge of graduating with no idea what to do next. He had two résumés in his respective fields and no plan on what to do until he was recommended to apply for graduate sound design programs—and by his luck, he was accepted into the California Institute of the Arts.
Which brings this to the present; Flikkie is a soon-to-be alumnus of CalArts on May 16th of 2025. He spent three years fully immersed in sound design, learning everything from system design and management, post-production for film, and ADR for voice-over. He has continued to study acting, using the last six months to immerse himself into film work and voice-over work. He also released a fully-instrumental EP that he composed, mixed, and mastered completely solo—as well as continuing to work on new music.
Flikkie’s goal is, and has always been, to feel fulfilled in doing what he loves, and each day is a step closer towards that.
